Matthew J. Mahlberg, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon who specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer, laser surgery, and aesthetic dermatology. He recently served as President of the Colorado Dermatologic Society and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Colorado.
A Colorado native, Dr. Mahlberg received his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Boettcher Scholar. After earning his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he trained and served as Chief Resident in dermatology at the New York University Medical Center (NYU), one of the nation’s top academic dermatology centers. Dr. Mahlberg continued his training in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery and laser surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Matthew J. Mahlberg is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters in the areas of cutaneous oncology, reconstructive surgery, and aesthetic medicine. His work in the field of reconstructive surgery has been recognized by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and he was the recipient of a national award for his research in reconstructive surgery. He also is passionate about healthcare policy and serves as a Member of the Task Force on Health Care Costs and Quality for the Colorado Medical Society.
Dr. Mahlberg lectures on the subjects of skin cancer, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic dermatology both locally and nationally. He also serves as guest host for DoctorRadio on SiriusXM satellite radio.

I loved Dr. Mahlburg the staff is incredible we were late and they were so nice. Dr Mahlburg was so sweet and helped me understand about my droopy eye. I loved him so much that im going back to see and his staff and believe im getting Juvaderm or Bolera to fix my uneven lips and im having Jolee do Venus Viva skin resurfacing done. I see her October 30 at 2:30 and see Dr Mahlburg 11/13 to fix my uneven lips. He also said because my droopy eye results in loss of vision I might be able to be insured but i did learn a valuable lesson. To see a professional doctor who practices in this profession alone not a spine and joint doctor. I'm so happy he removed my ugly mole it looks so much better. I have found a new face doctor that i absolutely love. Thanks so much! Can't wait to see you to fix my lips. I wish you could fix everything that quack messed up, my drooping eye but hopefully that will be covered by insurance! Everything he did he messed up! I will no longer ever see someone beside you for all facial procedures especially botox! Thanks again to you and your great staff ill see you soon! Marci Burnam

Dr. Mahlberg provided friendly, individualized and therapeutic treatment. I especially appreciated that he took the time to review what we had discussed and which procedures he would be completing with rationale provided. He gave options when needed and provided information to assist me in making informed choices. Everyone in the office was upbeat and friendly. This office is run very well, very efficient. I had a longer than normal wait because there was a patient with a complicated surgical case before me who had driven 4 hours from another state to see Dr. Mahlberg. I was glad to know that he gave the patient the attention required to treat her condition. Dr. Mahlberg and staff were gracious and apologized several times about my wait. He was very personable and professional and addressed all my dermatological concerns and questions. I will be returning and recommending him to others.

As a patient I could have not ask for a better visit or outcome. I have complete confidence in Dr. Mahlberg and would follow him to the end of the earth. He manages to make you feel comfortable, both physically and emotionally. His staff is very helpful from the front desk to answer all my questions and concerns were promptly addressed both in the office and on phone.
