My first check up in years. It was quick, easy, and had a cheap copay. Dr Awad was informative, didn’t make me feel horrible, and told me what I need to change to stay healthy. Would definitely recommend to anyone, young or older.

Dr. Awad is a great physician but his office staff made this a very poor experience. They are unfriendly over the phone and in person. First, it takes several calls to get someone on the phone. When they finally answer, they literally just grunt. There is no “hi”, “hello”, or “good afternoon”, they just answer with “ugh”. However, once, they did answer and say “doctor’s office” so I guess that is an improvement.
In person, there is no acknowledgement when you get to the receptionist. If they are on the phone when you arrive, a simple “I’ll be right with you” would be sufficient. Instead, they just continue with business as usual as if you’re not there.
I would have loved to retain Dr. Awad as my primary care but it is too stressful of an experience whenever I have to call or visit the office.

Left this appointment incredibly uncomfortable. Disclosing my own medical information to warn others. The doctor asked if I was sexually active, and I was honest and said no because of the pain I experience. Rather than concern, he asked verbatim "so why are you with your boyfriend? do you need help with the rent?" In what world would that ever be an okay question to ask, especially in response to a patient telling you that they are experiencing pain. I gave him my medical history and detailed the chronic diagnosed pain I have been in that has required multiple surgeries, and he questioned the purpose of the surgeries and instead prescribed me an anti-depressant. He was only focused on telling me I was depressed, rather than addressing my physical pain which was the reason I saw him in the first place. A wild, awful experience. In shock that male doctors think they can talk to women like this. How can you trust a doctor that will judge your personal decisions based on your health?

The office staff is excellent, and while the doctor takes his time getting to know you and listens carefully, I still believe that he wasn't paying attention to the main reason I was there in the first place. I want to highlight that before making this appointment I didn't realize the doctor specializes in Geriatric medicine, which is not particularly fitting with what I needed. Other than that, the office and the practice are maintained clean and welcoming.

I absolutely loved him and comparing to my previous PCP Dr Awad was very compassionate, understanding and took his time to listen to me and learn of my past medical history. I especially appreciated that he wasn’t so quick to prescribe medication or send me off to someone else. He was there for me and cared for my well being.
