Dr. Ramon A. Berenguer, M.D. is a graduate of la Universidad Autonoma de Ciencias Medicas. After medical school Dr. Berenguer started his training at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania and completed his training in anesthesiology at the University of Miami. In 2004, Dr. Berenguer started his primary care practice in Miami Shores which later integrated with Interamerican Medical Centers (IMC) in 2008. Shortly after the merger between IMC and Dr. Berenguer’s practice he became the medical director and ultimately the chief medical officer. In his role as chief medical officer, he was tasked to develop and grow the utilization management department, including referrals, complex case management, and in addition to supervising 50 plus medical providers on staff. After his departure from IMC in 2017, he worked as a medical consultant for various Independent Practice Associations improving utilization and MRA standards. In 2019, Dr. Berenguer joined Pura Vida Medical Center as general medical director until he founded Primary Medical Physicians.
