Dr. Melanie Langford received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. She also chose to complete a residency with the Univeristy of California Berkeley at the Palo Alto VA Hospital where she specialized in primary care and low vision. Dr. Langford practices full scope optometry and she enjoys working with patients of all ages. She is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease with therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, primary open angle glaucoma, and lacrimal irrigation and dilation. In her free time, she enjoys running and going to Balboa Park with her dog, Wrigley.

It was nice that she apologized for running so late, but she also explained to us that she had some unforeseen eye emergencies with other patients. I was disappointed when the optician (male) was rushing to get us out of the office because it was close to the office closing. I was looking at frames with my daughters and he said that it was past the hours that they were open. I didn't think that was right though because it wasn't our fault that our appointment was running late. We left at around 7pm or so. Other than that he was okay with helping us.

Dr. Langford is great! She was very thorough with my exam and explained everything to me in a way that I understood. I expressed a visual problem that I've been having and although my eyes are healthy from what she saw, she suggested a blood panel from my primary care physician, which I appreciate because the last optometrist I saw about this said "You're fine, don't worry!"
