The wait time for my morning appointment was minimal. The support staff was professional and polite. dr. marin is kind, deeply knowledgable, caring, compassionate, has a sense of humor, is relatable, spent tons of time talking with me before she examined me and afterwards, and is really warm---all of which i appreciated. dr. marin made numerous suggestions for me to deal with menstrual pain (some more aggressive than others), but was never pushy; just full of ideas that she was fine if i either wanted to think about or pass on. so glad to be her newest patient!

Dr. Melanie Marin practices office gynecology and gynecologic surgery at New York Physicians, a multispecialty group of dedicated physicians committed to providing high quality health care, and to treating their patients with the whole person in mind.
Dr. Marin completed her Bachelors in Biology and French at Columbia College of Columbia University. She received her medical doctorate from NYU School of Medicine. Her internship and residency were completed at Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University in 1997. She joined New York Physicians and the faculty of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital after graduation.
Dr. Marin limited her practice to gynecology only in 2002 in order to concentrate on her areas of special expertise, including laparoscopic surgery, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, the treatment of fibroids and menopause management. She became a nationally certified menopause practitioner in 2007 and continues her training to maintain certification. She offers MonaLisa Touch vaginal rejuvenation to treat menopausal vaginal atrophy.
In 2008, Dr. Marin was invited to bring her laparoscopic expertise to Mount Sinai Hospital where she has been an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology every since. She performs her surgeries at Mount Sinai and trains residents and fellows in gynecologic surgery and minimally invasive surgery including advanced laparoscopic surgery.
She was awarded the 2012 CREOG Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education by her residents.

I had a very bad experience having an IUD inserted by Dr. Marin. I've never had children and she advised it didn't matter if I was on my cycle or not for the insertion. It was an extremely painful and traumatic experience. After the procedure, she basically said "see you next year for your annual". Secondly I got an infection and was in dire need of a prescription. The receptionist was so rude; I called around 4:30 pm to ask for availability she laughed and basically said we're done for the day. Then when I asked for the next appointment she said Dr. Marin doesn't work tomorrow . I really couldn't wait and her lack of professionalism and care was also upsetting. I would NEVER visit this office again.

Although there was a 40 minute delay due to a patient before me needing more time I felt Dr. Marin was worth the wait. Dr. Marin was patient and listened to all of my concerns and questions and presented me with all of my options. It was my first visit but I feel I am in good hands.

I get extremely light headed and nauseous whenever I have my blood drawn, but she did a great job of taking my mind off of it and even stayed in the room with me to make sure I was okay. I will recommend Dr Marin to all my friends and family. In fact i already did. It was my first visit and I was able to get an appointment within less than two weeks which from my experience is rare for an annual check up only. It is the first time I have seen a gynecologist and not have to wait longer than 10 minutes. She is very caring, made me feel comfrtable, listend and answered all my questions. She did a very thorough examination and I didn't feel rushed. I am so glad I found her.
