About Dr. Joshua Holden
Westside Family Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Josh Holden to our team, where we believe that Women's Healthcare IS Primary Care. Dr. Holden will expand our current GYN care offerings, performing gynecological services including routine PAPs, colposcopies, IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals, and evaluations for a variety of other GYN concerns such as bleeding, discharge, painful sex, vaginitis, vaginal dryness, and menopausal symptoms, to name just a few. Dr. Holden is a board-certified OB/GYN who has been practicing for 21 years in Manhattan. He focuses on spending time listening to patients' issues and providing up-to-date information that patients can then use to make the best health care decisions for themselves. Dr. Holden attended Emory University for college and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, where he also completed his residency. He is on the medical board of the International Organization for Women and Development, an NGO that has focused since 2009 on treating women in Rwanda suffering from injuries sustained during childbirth. There, he educates local doctors and midwives on techniques to prevent these injuries and recruits other OB/GYNs to come to Rwanda to train young doctors. Dr. Holden is a local Upper West Sider who has watched my three kids grow up in this community. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, coaching his kids' ice hockey teams, and playing ice hockey himself!
