More about Dr. Melinda Exume, MD
Dr. Melinda Exume completed her B.S in Biology and later earned her medical degree at the University of Florida, College of Medicine where she graduated with honors in research. She went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at UF Health where she honed her clinical skills. Following completion of her residency, she worked as a hospitalist where she efficiently and effectively managed acute care patients. She was awarded “Excellence in Patient Satisfaction, Inpatient Top Performing Hospitalist” by Advent Health in 2020. In 2022, she transitioned to outpatient work with AMD to focus on a more holistic and preventative approach to medicine.
Dr. Exume is of Haitian descent and is fluent in Haitian-Creole. Serving on medical mission trips to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Peru laid the groundwork for her acquisition of Spanish as a third language. She believes that communication is the most important aspect of patient care and therefore actively strives to continue improving upon her language and communication skills.
Dr. Exume’s hobbies include exploring nature and working on various creative endeavors. She enjoys daily walks, beach-going, candle making, and writing.
