She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas State University prior to commissioning as an officer in the United States Air Force. Following her time on active duty, Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in the Houston Medical Center and a Master’s of Science degree in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health from Georgetown University. She practiced as a register nurse at Washington Hospital Center and Creighton University Hospital before joining the Millennium Team to provide optimal care to women throughout their lifespan.
