Awesome doctor!! He made me feel very comfortable during our brief discussion before the Pap smear and even brought in a nurse to chaperone even though I told him I would feel okay without her there (I hesitated to answer so I think that’s why he did it). This is a huge deal for me because I HATE Pap smears (as much as some people hate needles and will avoid flu shots at all costs...I will avoid Pap smears at all costs). He was very informative about different birth control options in regards to my situation and answered any questions I had. As a younger women, I’ve had bad experiences being treated like a child by OB GYN doctors and nurses but I felt respected in this office so I felt much more comfortable asking more personal questions without feeling judged. I had to wait about 30 min in the waiting area and then another 15-20 min to see him in my room but he said he had gotten behind with a patient he saw before me so I don’t think that’s the norm with this doctor. I highly recommend this place!!

Dr Michael Anthony received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed his residency training at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He and his wife Virginia moved to Cary in 1992 when he joined Cary OB/GYN. He and Virginia participate in numerous philanthropic causes in Cary and Wake County. They have 2 children, Helen and John. Dr Anthony served as president of the medical staff at WakeMed Cary Hospital for the 2005-2006 term and he has served many positions on the hospital medical leadership staff through the years. Dr Anthony has been annually re-certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists from 2004 to present time. He is also a Certified Menopause Provider, having been credentialed by The North American Menopause Society.
