Dr. Michael Gazzaniga is a native Southern Californian. He attended medical school at Dartmouth Medical in Hanover, New Hampshire. In 1996, he returned to California and completed his residency in Urology at UC Irvine Medical Center. He then served as a clinical instructor for residents in training at UCI.
Dr. Gazzaniga has been the recipient of the "Physician of Excellence" awarded by the Orange County Medical Association and "Top Doctors" for 2006 and 2012 in Orange Coast Magazine. He has published articles on topics which include laparoscopic surgery. He has served as Chief of Surgery at St Jude Medical Center. He belongs to the Orange County Urological Society and is a member of the AMA. He is also a delegate to the California Medical Association. He has volunteered multiple hours through the St Jude outreach program and Access OC which provides free surgical care to the uninsured.
Dr. Gazzaniga has done many lectures throughout Orange County and nationally on topics which include Robotic Surgery and neuromodulation of urological disorders. He has traveled throughout the United States as an instructor teaching other surgeons surgical techniques in neuormodulation (Interstim). Currently he is the director of St Jude Medical Center's urologic oncology program and is active in clinical trials.

Office staff was friendly. I came in right on time. Waited about 10 mins. while I was doing my paperwork. Just a quick scan of the other patient rooms showed that the office staff did not promptly clean up empty rooms. The room I went into was clean, except they did not rip a new sheet of bed paper. The doctor came in a couple of minutes after the nurse and changed the paper himself. The doctor did a good job of explaining my condition, which was mild, but I felt like he forgot to keep my informed about how I should continue to monitor my condition or what I should do to stay healthy.
