Dr. Michael Haag, has over 15 years of clinical experience. He
received his medical degree from University of Nebraska College
of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency
in Internal Medicine at University of Missouri-Columbia
before going on to complete a residency in Dermatology at
University of South Florida. Dr. Haag began his career as a
clinical dermatologist in 1994 in Overland Park, KS and later
went into private in Lenexa, Kansas. He joined Dermatology
& Skin Cancer Specialist in the summer of 2015.
Dr. Haag is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology
and a Fellow of the America Academy of Dermatology.
In addition to his interest in skin cancer prevention and
treatment, he has a special interest in the topical and systemic
effects of drugs and products as they pertain to long-term
health and the prevention of aging. Dr. Haag will see patients
in Lenexa and Overland Park, KS.

The office staff was very friendly and very welcoming. However, Dr. Haag was very abrupt and short with me. At one point I asked him a question and before I could finish my question he cut me off and said that "Dermatology was not a forensic science". He wrote down a list of things and asked me to google it in my free time. I left feeling like I could have gone on WebMD and self-diagnosed.

1) Its a terrible experience: sat and waited in the lobby for more than one hour. Receptionist who checked me in was not friendly. Such a long waiting was a nightmare, especially people who checked in later got called much earlier than I did.
2) Not sure how the new prescription would help.
Would not come back to this skin center again.

The doctor was great. There was a wait, but that is pretty typical these days. I filled out all the paperwork online and submitted it since the receptionist sent an email indicating they needed it since they lost access to previous records after a location change. The office staff took a while to acknowledge my presence at their desk, and then proceeded to have me fill out the same information I submitted online. No one checked to see if they had it before handing me the clipboard. I noticed the same process for each person that arrived.
Once I reached the doctor, all my questions were answered and I was pleased with the doctor.

My appointment was scheduled to be at 9:00. I showed up well beforehand and had already filled out the necessary paperwork. Yet it still took about 20-30 minutes before we were called to the back. Once back there, the nurse was very polite and prompt. However, it took another 30-45 minutes or so before the doctor came in. so in total, it took almost 90 minutes after arrival before the doctor came to see us. Once there, it took him less than 5 minutes before he was done and we were out. He was very rude and dismissive of my condition. When prompted for more detail as to why he diagnosed me as he did, he stated that my condition was not that bad and that he had seen 4 other people that morning with conditions worse than mine. He looked over my skin with a magnifying glass and stated it was nothing more than common acne and did not/would not address the scarring around my face. He also stated he did not and would not be involved in any correspondence involving attorneys or anything of that nature. I feel as though he came into the room with his mind already made up that he didn't want to have anything to do with me as a patient and proceeded to make that very clear. I am not sure about the other doctors at this practice, but I would not recommend this particular one. I am sure he is a fine doctor, but my particular interaction on this day left a lot to be desired.

I've seen a couple dermatologists throughout my life time and I've tried to find one I'm comfortable with following my melanoma diagnosis in February. I am very happy with my first impression of Dr. Haag. He takes his time, he wasn't flustered and overwhelmed by my medical history, he took the time to explain things and for the first time I walked away not worrying that a doctor had missed something.

Dr. Haag was great. Very thorough and explained things clearly. The staff was good and my wait was not horrible.
My only complaint is that I was handed paperwork when I walked in after I had already filled out the information on Zocdoc. I told them that I filled it out online already to save time and they said "we don't have access to that, so you'll have to fill out the paperwork.". That was pretty frustrating, as I then had to spend even more time filling out paperwork with information that I had already filled out!
