Having been to an eye appt before where my eyes were dilated, I knew what to expect. But I think as a rule, the eye doctors do not tell patients ahead of time that they will need to have someone drive them home since their eyes will take a long time to readjust. No one has EVER counseled me about what to expect, and I think that is a real problem. There is not enough communication to prepare the patient as to what to expect after his or her exam.

I only spent about 5 minutes if that with the doctor. I spent more time w/ his assistant. he does not follow up especially with test results or give an opinion on next steps. he is very cold.
