Great experience! The office staff were super friendly and efficient, I hardly waited at all. Dr. Velkoff was super friendly and really focused on getting to know me in order to best be able to treat me in the long term. I'm happy to feel that I've found a long term Dr. in Denver!

Dr. Velkoff graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University with a double major in journalism and biology. She completed graduate research in human biochemical genetics and earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where she also completed her internship and residency. Prior to joining SCL Health System, Dr. Velkoff was an internist and founder of Colorado Health Care Specialists, a multi-specialist private practice group in central Denver. Dr. Velkoff is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her clinical interests include hypertension, chronic pulmonary disease and general health maintenance.
As a physician, Dr. Velkoff’s yardstick concerning clinical decisions has always been “Would I recommend this treatment or specialist to my mother, father, brother or sister?” She believes if we treat our patients the way we expect outside clinicians to treat our loved ones, this could be a much healthier nation.
