Dr. Melchor is an outstanding Doctor. She is on top of new treatments. She is a great listener and explains things clearly. I have been going to her for many years and highly recommend her.
The wait time is to a minimal and the staff friendly and professional.
One thing I do not care for is not being able to speak to someone directly on the phone. All you get is a voicemail. Please change that. Thank you.

Dr. Melchor is a graduate of the University of Houston-College of Optometry. She has been in practice for 12 years. After graduating, Dr. Melchor was invited to join a large multi-disiplined practice in Houston. She practiced at St. Joseph Medical Plaza and at the Hermann Eye Center for four years before deciding to venture out to start a smaller partnership with Dr. Monique Adams-DeRouen in the suburbs of the Houston metroplex.
Dr. Melchor has been a member in good standing with Houston Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association since 1994. She has also been an active member in the Harris County Optometric Society (HCOS) since 1998, holding a position of Board Member from 2001-2004. She held the position of HCOS Vice President in 2005.

Dr Melcher is the best. She takes the time I need, which with narrow angle glaucoma is a lot. She works hard to see exactly what is happening and has made the recommendations necessary to keep my vision, which is tricky but paramount. Thanks, Dr Melcher!

She was great and so was the tech that saw me before her. However this appointment had already been rescheduled by the office. My first appointment meant was scheduled after work and the new appointment was scheduled during my lunch as they assured my the entire appointment would last 30 minutes tops so that I can get back to work. The appointment took 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was late from lunch. What a shame bc I really liked the dr and tech but the lack of care for my time is a huge turn off from this office. I would have recommended this place to my wife, son, parents and friends who are moving to the area but now I’m not sure if I even want to come back. On top of everything I was not told my copy before the appointment but rather once I arrived. And they require a scan that was not optional and cost $40 the scan was great but I wasn’t informed of this mandatory scan which must be paid out of pocket and not through insurance until I arrived.

I have been going to doctor Michelle Melchor OD since 2016 for my comprehensive eye exam; she is very thorough and ensures that the prescriptions are correct. I've had difficulty finding the right prescription; she's done a fantastic job working with me. I highly recommend her to anybody looking for an eye doctor. I cannot say enough about Michelle Melchor OD other than she has become my family's eye doctor, and I've never had better vision.
