About Dr. Loraine Payan
Dr. Loraine Rodriguez Payan is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She moved with her family to Houston at the age of 6 years old. Growing up on the southeast side of Houston, Loraine attended Dobie High School where she graduated in 1988 with Honors. She was awarded an academic excellence scholarship to attend the University of Houston where she began to pursue her interests in Biology and Optometry.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Optometry and continued studies at the University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997. During her final year of studies at the College of Optometry Dr. Payan complete externship programs with the US Army at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio and Bellaire Contact Lens associates.
Dr. Payan moved to San Antonio soon after graduation and practiced there with Master Eye Associates for about a year. Missing Houston and her family brought her back where she began working with several different optometrists throughout Houston, Katy and Copperfield areas. She also spent about a year working with an ophthalmologist assisting with pre and post operative care of patients with cataracts, laser procedures and diseases of the eyes.
After 7 years of practice in other optometry offices, she opened her own private practice in August 2004.

Dr. Payan’s office was cute and quaint. I had a wonderful experience with the staff on duty they were super friendly and knowledgeable about all of my questions. They had my insurance portion taken care of upon checking in. I really appreciate how knowledgeable and direct Dr. Payan is and how she didn’t make me feel like what I was asking was dumb questions and addressed all of my concerns. Bedside manner is superb and she has years of practice and was kind to me even making me laugh.

I haven’t had an exam in years and I was so nervous. The Doctor and her staff were very nice and welcoming. She took her time and made sure all of my concerns were addressed and also educated me on my eye health. I highly recommend! Booking through ZocDoc made the process really easy.

I booked my appointment for 2:30. However, I received an email from Zocdoc stating that my appointment was changed automatically by the office to 130. When I showed up at 1:?30 the staff stated that my appointment was scheduled for 2:30. I showed her the email and apparently Zocdoc change my appointment but didn’t tell the office.
