The office has two doctors. When you checked in you are provided a paper on how the other doctor in the office will not prescribe birth control due to religious reasons. This was a turn off for me.

Dr. Mirela L. Mircea graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1985, from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in her home town of Cluj, the capital of Transylvania, Romania. While there, she trained and worked as a Family Physician. Upon coming to the States, she completed her second residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, in the Family Medicine program, where she also served as Chief Resident. After moving to Alexandria VA with her family, Dr. Mircea worked in the Alexandria Family Medicine office under INOVA, as Medical Director, until 2001, when, together with Dr. Lugo-Eschenwald, she established Family Medicine Associates of Alexandria, as it functions today. Her professional interests are geared towards the whole family, with an emphasis on women health, cosmetic and small surgical procedures. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, painting and practicing her foreign language skills, i.e. Romanian, French and German.
Dr. Mircea is Board-Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has been on the Top Doctors' list for the past four years in a row. Following the Hippocratic Oath was, is and always will be her passion, mission and family tradition.

I have been seeing Dr.Mircea for several years. The ladies at the front desk are always very nice and polite. The nursing staff is very professional and accommodating. Dr.Mircea is a wonderful doctor. She has excellent bedside manners and she always provides excellent care. She genuinely care for her patients.Love that the office has emergency appointments for the established patients.

Bilingual office - Spanish. The office was clean and had a variety of magazines to look at whiling waiting. Expect to wait awhile, between 45-60 min, to see the doctor. Dr. Mircea was very friendly and thorough.

My waiting time was minimal (about 5mins). The staff was friendly and accommodating. Dr Mircea is a real professional - hears out your health issues and very straight forwardly answers all your concerns. After being in the ER two times, the week before my appointment and with no big improvement, Dr Mircea managed to successfully treat my symptoms. Very much an honest, nice and trustworthy doctor!

I have a mixed review but overall, I like Dr. Mircea and will continue to see her for a while. First, let me say that although the office space wasn't attractive and the staff wasn't the friendliest or quickest I've seen, that's not the thing I care most about when finding a doctor. I care about the doctor and their attitude and ability to care for me. I waited over an hour to see the doctor, but when I did, she was friendly and didn't seem like she was rushing me. I have a complicated medical history, and she took her time to take notes about it and ask me questions. It is still too early to tell whether seeing Dr. Mircea will lead to improvement in my tricky health issues, but I know it's not the doctor's job to be a magician and instantly understand a patient's complicated issues and know how to fix them. There are more important things that I desire from my doctors: for example, a sense that they care about my suffering, a willingness to try some different things with me when the obvious answer isn't clear, and the ability to listen respectfully to me rather than dismissing my concerns. From what I've seen so far, Dr. Mircea is an intelligent and friendly doctor who meets those needs.

Doctor and Nurse Practitioner missed an important diagnosis. Symptoms were dismissed and I therefore had to schedule additional time off to be seen by a doctor in another practice.

Sh was very kind and efficient. But the wait to see the dr. is insane. My appointment was scheduled for 8 a.m. but they kept telling me it was for 8:30 instead. I have zocdoc send a reminder to my cell and it clearly says 8 a.m. So I don't know if the problem is with them or zocdoc about the scheduling.

So this was an OK visit. It was our first visit with Dr. Mircea, so perhaps next time will be better. We waited a while out in the reception area, then longer after we were in the room. With a 7 year old, this is never very fun. She was nice enough. But hadn't looked over his charts, so she had no idea about anything that I had taken the time to fill out. I wouldn't say that she was horrible, she was good enough to give her another shot. Hopefully next time she'll be more prepared to discuss our visit.

Dr. Mircea asked me many of the questions I completed on the new patient medical history form, but it was a great way to have a conversation about my concerns and future health outlook. She took the time to ask follow-up questions. I've officially determined that she will be my primary care physician. She was perfunctory but kind. Just what you want in a medical practitioner.

The office staff did not have my paperwork ready (I used ZocDoc's electronic check in). I still had to fill out a few papers in person. Then, when I went to see the doctor, she had to do my health history with me. I'd already undressed as directed by the nurse, so I was covered with a paper cloth answering questions that I'd already done online because their forms are not identical. I would not recommend switching to this doctor's office.

Dr. Mircea is my doctor for over a year now.
I am very pleased with her care, her professionalism and her open and friendly attitude. She always follows-up with me and checks on my improvement. Not many doctors care about their patients like she does. And although her office is a long drive from my home, it is a drive worth making. I already recommended her to all my friends.
