Nice offices, plenty of parking. Great bedside manner- very nice, good questions re: health, and personable. I came in for an ear infection but was also seeing if I would want to take on Dr. Mona as my Primary Care physician. I'll be back for my general health needs.

As a naturopathic family practitioner at the University Health Clinic in Seattle, Dr. Fahoum’s interests and specialties include nutrition, weight loss, IBS, IBD and women’s health. She views healing as a dynamic process, unique to each person, with different treatments appropriate for different patients. This philosophy allows her the flexibility to move easily between conventional and natural treatments.
Dr. Fahoum began her study in medicine at the University of Washington where she received her B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. After exploring the world of research as an undergraduate at the University of Washington, Dr. Fahoum realized that the key to your health is not adequately addressed in the laboratory. Rather, the key is to educate and help you understand, and apply, those changes to your unique life circumstance.
After U of W, she went on to study the science of natural medicine at Bastyr University, graduating in 2004 with a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Outside primary care practice, her work also includes public educational forums on naturopathic medicine as well as being the president of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She is adjunct faculty at Bastyr University.
Professionally, Dr. Fahoum is president of her state organization, Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP). She and the board are actively working to expand knowledge and access to naturopathic primary care in the State of Washington.
Whatever free time there is left, Dr. Mona plays women’s soccer and can be found snowboarding at Stevens Pass whenever she is not with her new daughter!

Dr. Mona Fahoum used the lab results to narrow in on my issues and recommend treatments. She explained the physiology of what is happening in my body and how the treatments would address the problems. It all became clear to me.

I went to Dr. Mona, primarily, for a refill of a prescription, but also to see what she had to offer in terms of diabetes and weight management advice. Long story short: she's wonderful. She took a comprehensive history, asking important questions about different approaches I've taken before with my weight, diabetes, and mental health, which is absolutely crucial to me. She was not judgmental, understood the difficulty of the problems with handling weight/diabetes, and was hesitant to prescribe even a single supplement before getting a more comprehensive picture of my overall health. It's very obvious that she's intelligent, cares about her patients, and views health problems as interconnected, which makes an incredible difference. It's only been one visit, but I'm positive I'll be back to see her as long as she's around.
Her staff is super friendly and helpful, too! If you ask, they are more than happy to email you electronic copies of the paperwork you have to sign in-person, which I very much appreciated. Thanks, you guys!
