As others have mentioned, Dr. Patel lacks the motivation for edge cases that don’t fall into specific classifications. I was pretty much told I couldn’t be helped.

Expect to wait at least an hour after your appointment time before being seen. Longest wait times here of any of my doctors. She is competent but unable to really help with my symptoms which don’t fall neatly into common diagnoses. She lacks creativity and a willingness to do extra research for difficult cases like mine.

My most favorite doctor in the whole world, my previous neurologist, is now only treating stroke patients. Since I don't fit into that category, I needed to find a new neurologist because of some concerning symptoms that I thought might be related to a previous diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis. A quick ZocDoc search and I chose Dr. Patel because of her reviews. I think I made the right choice - I loved her.
Her office is clean, well decorated, and modern. I mean, I know that's not that important in the scheme of things, but I appreciate a nice reception area and waiting room. I was initially concerned that I made an appointment with a doctor who only treated neurological issues revolving balance because that's what the intake questions focused on, but those concerns were unfounded. While it seems that the other doctor there does seem to focus on balance issues, Dr. Patel is well-versed in all neurological issues, even Transverse Myelitis which is kind of a "zebra" diagnosis since it's pretty rare. Her assistant is wonderful - she took my blood pressure, pulse, and other base stats but she also was the one who initially discussed my concerns and neurological history. I found her caring, smart, and knowledgeable. She then talked to the doctor who came in prepared to get right to the point.
Dr. Patel was very nice and thorough. She asked the right questions, I felt, and answered my questions with a great deal of patience. Since I slacked on getting to the doctor about my issue (frequent, transient double vision), she made sure to order my MRI as stat. I left the office feeling confident that we'd get to the bottom of my vision problems and come up with a resolution.

Dr. Patel is very thorough, kind, patient and did I mention thorough?! She ask a lot of questions, listens to any and all of your concerns and I felt very well taken care of. She definitely found her calling :)

Dr. Patel was great however I had an EMG run and I could immediately tell that the tech had no idea what he was doing. The test took forever and then the results that came out were bogus. The doctor and nurse realized this and asked me to come in again for another EMG with a different tech. By this time, I had already had my MRI read and we knew the issue was a herniated disc. Dr. Patel was great but they need to make sure their techs know what they are doing as it puts patients through unwanted stress and excessive appts.

Dr Patel and her nurse, Danielle, provide an excellent standard of care.
At each appointment Danielle takes very detailed notes and interacts with the patient at every step of the way. I have never had such good quality care.
Dr Patel is great at spending time listening and explaining. She is approachable and very caring. I am also very impressed by her proactive approach.
Dr Patel is the best neurologist is have seen in the 13 years since being diagnosed with MS.
