Dr Mordo Suchov received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City where he was born and raised. After completing medical school in Mexico, Dr Suchov successfully passed all the required exams to qualify his education as equivalent to an American medical school graduate and compete for postgraduate training position s in the U.S.. Dr Suchov completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, affiliate of The Johns Hopkins University training program and successfully passed the American Board of Internal Medicine exam to become Board Certified in Internal Medicine. After this Dr Suchov was accepted to become a Gastroenterology fellow at Harbor -UCLA Medical Center, Dr Suchov completed his fellowship and became Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
Dr Suchov began private practice of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy in 1985 and since then has maintained continuos medical education sponsored by the major societies in the specialty. He has also participated in multitude of training workshops to acquire newer skills as they become available. Dr Suchov has been a member of the main organizations and societies in the field.
Dr Suchov has also participated in Medical Staff duties and activities at different hospitals during his practice.
Dr Suchov has been happily married since 1979 and has three grown children. Dr Suchov and his wife Lina Suchov PhD (Clinical Psychologist) are both busy professionals that also enjoy physical activities such as running, hiking, skiing, biking as well as cultural activities like theater, movies, concerts, etc. They have travelled extensibly and cherish the opportunity to visit and learn about other cultures and places. They strive to spend as much time as possible in the company of their family.
Dr Suchov met Ms Maria Ronquillo APRN, ANP early in their careers, when she was a nursing student at the hospital. Ms Ronquillo rose to become Head Nurse, she then became GI (gastroenterology) Nurse and assisted in multitude of endoscopic procedures. After this she moved to USC University Hospital and rose to become a Liver Transplant Coordinator. Ms Ronquillo then took the opportunity to train as Nurse Practitioner at the California State University, LA program and towards the end of her training reacquainted herself with Dr Suchov and took an internship in his practice. Upon completing this specialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Ms Ronquillo joined Dr Suchov forming a team that has remained together for more than 10 years.
