Nasir Rana, M.D., has devoted more than 30 years of his professional life to academic medicine and the clinical practice of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is one of the Founding Members of Reproductive Medicine Institute.
Dr. Rana received his early medical education from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, and graduated with a Medical Degree in 1969. In 1974, he completed his internship and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and a postgraduate research fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center/Rush Medical University. Dr. Rana also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Illinois School of Public Health in Chicago.
Dr. Rana was awarded a Certificate of Special Competence in the field of advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American College of Surgeons. He is also certified in Robotic Surgery and utliizes these techniques in a variety of reproductive procedures.
Dr. Rana is the author or co-author of numerous scientific articles published in peer-review journals. Together, Dr. Rana and Dr. Dmowski established the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Endometriosis.
Dr. Rana is on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, Weiss Memorial Hospital Chicago and the Oak Brook Medical & Surgical Center in Oakbrook.
After a long and distinguished military career, Dr. Rana retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Air Force Reserve with a rating of Chief Flight Surgeon. He is a veteran of the Gulf war, recipient of several military awards and decorations and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Dr Rana is also fully conversant in Urdu, Panjabi and Hindi.
