Dr. Beckford received his undergraduate at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in biology. He attended medical school and did his surgical internship at Howard University in Washington D.C. Dr. Beckford did his residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He was board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 1985.
Dr. Beckford was elected President of the Bluff City Medical Society for 1999-2000. He is on the Board of Trust for Opera Memphis and is on the Board of Directors for the Memphis and Shelby County Medical Society. Dr. Beckford also is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Association of Otolaryngology Administrators and several other professional societies and organizations.
Dr. Beckford is married with 3 children. He enjoys music, bicycling, exercising and spending time with his family.
