Does your mind constantly run? Cannot turn it off? Do you worry yourself to sleep or that you are “going crazy”? Anxiety, worry, and over-thinking are common in today’s fast-paced world, but help is available. Counselors give advice. Unsure about what to do? They’ll tell you. This is comforting, but this is not therapy. In sessions, we explore your mind, how it ticks, and how to focus your time and energy on things that matter to most to you. Unlike other theories which focus on labeling thoughts and feelings as “good” or “bad” and attempting to change them, Mindfulness seeks at relating to them differently.
With over 11 years as a licensed psychologist, I have worked with students, law enforcement, and military members. I also have three master’s degrees focused on clinical psychopharmacology and forensics, and nationally board certified in clinical psychology (only about 4% of psychologists obtain).
I also have specialties in diagnostic testing for forensic, intellectual, academic, learning, ADHD, etc., and behavioral health program development in correctional settings, having developed many in federal/state systems.
