He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2002. Dr. Kumar began his clinical training with the Navy at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Chicago, IL, where treatment and management of ocular disease was emphasized. As an intern in a private practice in Reston, VA, he received training in contact lens fitting and surgical co-management.

Dr Kumar has a very positive, knowledgeable, and helpful bedside manner. Very attentive to my concerns. I left the office trusting Dr. Kumar's diagnoses and prognoses and will return as I have finally found me an optometrist. The tech performed all of the necessary tests in a very careful, professional manner as she asked me questions and notated my responses for the dr.

I really liked how he performed in an extremely professional manner, he took an x-ray of the inside of my eyes and explained in depth about the optic nerves and how everything inside of my eyes looked healthy. I thought that was very fascinating. I would recommend Dr. Kumar to anyone.
