I came to see Dr. Patel after my last doctor moved out of state. I had an extremely difficult year after he left. I was very anxious to find a new pain management doctor, convinced I could not find someone as good as my last doctor. I booked an appointment with an orthopedic doctor who knew my other pain management doctor and what kind of doctor I was looking for: kind, caring and compassionate which is very hard to find these days.
On that first day, I could tell, by the way the other patients were being seen, that he was very efficient. Not rushing you, but if he knows the patient and the condition, he's very prompt and gets to the point immediately. I could see he was tending to his long-time patients very quickly, they seemed happy and the newer patients were getting more time. He took the time to look at my records and my tests and discuss treatment options. I did not feel rushed and felt at ease almost immediately.
I've been with the practice a year now and have had facet joint injections and radiofrequency ablation. I was so nervous about the ablation and had put it off for nearly 2 years. It relieved my pain for a few months which was great.
My office visits are good experiences either with Dr. Patel or his Nurse Practitioner Susan Pedersen. I am usually seen within 10-20 minutes of my appointed time. If I need to talk about something, they give me the time and if I don't, we don't. There's not a lot of "go in this room and see this person" then this room and see that one. They don't waste your time. It's good while still being attentive. If you ever need them to answer questions or listen to you, they will give you as much time as you need. I am very glad to have found Dr. Patel and NP Petersen. They are both great.

After 35 min. wait I was called in to the exam room, Doctor Patel ran in asked me what meds I am taking and told me he couldn't help me, gave me a phone number of another doctor and ran out. That was it! Spent maybe 20 seconds with the Doctor. What a waste
of time.

He assessed my arthritis issues right away, he got it without me having to explain for 15 minutes. I was very impressed. I felt a sense of relief after the visit that fianlly I would now be cared for as I had hoped so I can stay mobile and be able to maintain the quality of life I used to have before my diagnosis.
