Dr. Nonnie-Marie Estella has been a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1997. She completed her medical training at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Previously a clinical instructor at West Suburban Hospital in Chicago, Dr. Estella has served New England women since 1999. She opened her practice in 2004 with admitting privileges at Lowell General Hospital. Currently, she is the director of minimally invasive gynecological surgery and past president of the Medical Staff at the hospital.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Estella is a Fellow at the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopy (AAGL) and the Society of Gynecological Laparoscopy. She is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Society.
Dr. Estella continues to be at the forefront of the field of innovation for women’s gynecological health. A certified surgeon of excellence in minimally invasive gynecology, she is one of only 25 surgeons awarded that designation in New England. This area of gynecology continues to see great progress in innovative technologies, leading to improved patient outcomes.
Robotic surgery now provides single-incision procedures that are virtually scarless. To insure excellence in robotic surgery, Dr. Estella is one of only four surgeons in Massachusetts chosen to provide single-site robotic hysterectomy. As a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, she continues to hone her techniques and acquire new skills

I arrived not feeling well, with a (Menopause) Migraine, and Dr. Estella worked efficiently (and empathetically) to make my (Annual) Physical quick and thorough. I greatly enjoy seeing her, talking to her (since she is a great listener and diagnostic), and I wish all my Doctor's were so thorough (and sweet) like her! I left still feeling (this Migraine made me nasueas too) sick, but happy I have Dr. Estella for my Gynecologist!! I must see and speak to my Neurologist next about updating my Migraine Medicine!!!
