I wish more doctors were like Dr. Goldstein. I felt nothing but genuine kindness and care the moment I stepped into the examination room. His warm welcome really set the mood for the rest of the visit. He was kind and did not rush through his questions about my medical history. He also told me a bit about himself which was nice and showed he was human too. Gone are the days of doctors spending time with a patient really getting to know them. I feel like I'm being rushed at other offices and they really don't care or truly listen. They just want to diagnose and run off to the next patient. Dr. Goldstein is a true professional and I can see why the AMA honored him for practicing for more than 50 years. Before I forget, I wanted to mention something. I made a super last minute appt on zocdoc (same day) and 1 hour later I got a call so I thought it was the office confirming my appt. It was Dr Goldstein calling me to see what was wrong that I made the appt and to talk about whether or not I needed to really see him. I have NEVER been to a doctor that called me personally to see if it was necessary for me to go in the office. Dr Goldstein is a professional and his bedside manner is wonderful. All other doctors should follow his example.

Born in Brooklyn, Dr. Goldstein graduated from Columbia College, receiving his M.D. from S.U.N.Y. Downstate Medical Center. After a dermatology residency at Skin and Cancer Hospital, Bellevue Hospital and N.Y.U. Postgraduate Medical Center, he served as Captain in the U.S. Army and Chief of Dermatology, receiving the U.S. Army Medal of Commendation.
He became Director of The Research and Education Foundation Laboratory where he conducted important clinical investigations of topical sunscreen agents. The American Academy of Dermatology presented him the Award for Original Research in the Prevention of Skin Cancers, which led him to formulate the first sunscreen for skin cancer prevention, that he named PreSun. When The Skin Cancer Foundation formed, he served as an Advisor.
As Director of The PhotoBiology Research Laboratory, he applied his award - winning ability in photography to develop and publish photographic techniques for early detection of skin cancers. He worked with the Polaroid Corporation who produced a film for his study, resulting in the split-image concept of comparing skin seen under natural light with skin seen under ultra-violet light. The study revealed sun-related damage beneath the skin that was undetectable to the human eye. Now, similar photographs are used in media sunblock advertisements worldwide. Dr Goldstein has given interviews for Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, Mademoiselle, Self and Redbook .
