Dr. Tobi Yerokun is a board certified preventive medicine and public health physician who also specializes in wound and burn care. He is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and attended Morehouse College. He received his medical education at Howard University College of Medicine followed by three years of training in general surgery at Howard University Hospital. He began his work in wound care shortly thereafter while simultaneously earning a masters in public health and completing a residency in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He has committed his career to serving the underserved, participating in annual surgical missions to Mozambique, working with the CDC in endemic areas during the Zika virus outbreak, and participating in community health projects in the DC metropolitan area. Dr. Yerokun has a passion for understanding the many factors that influence patient outcomes and how they can be modified to improve quality of life.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, hiking, and playing golf, basketball and soccer.

Dr. Tobi and the staff at Jivana are professional, warm and great listeners. I always feel as if I'm the most important patient they have. I feel they listen to my concerns and problem solve to come up w/ a viable solution.
