"As a nephrologist, I am passionate about providing patient-centered care based on the latest evidence, while supporting and empowering the patient to take control of their health. I am committed to preventing kidney disease in high-risk individuals and slowing the progression of kidney disease in those who are already affected and guiding them to and through their journey in kidney transplantation when the kidney has failed."
Dr. Ayah earned her medical degree in Germany and completed her Internal Medicine training in Philadelphia. She pursued fellowships in Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology at UT San Antonio and Houston Methodist, serving as Chief Fellow in both programs.
She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Transplant Nephrology. Dr. Ayah serves on the faculty at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute and contributes to research ethics as a committee member at Texas Southern University. Before her nephrology training, she worked for three years as a hospitalist, earning recognition for her compassionate care. She was named a “Patient Experience Champion” and later honored as “Outstanding Fellow” by UT San Antonio’s Internal Medicine residents.
Outside of work, Dr. Ayah is active in her church and enjoys organizing community events. She values time with loved ones and stays active through virtual kickboxing. Fluent in German, English, French, and Pidgin English, she connects easily with diverse patients.
