Leading our practice is Omowunmi Abayomi, a New York State-licensed and nationally board-certified adult health nurse practitioner with extensive experience in primary care. A graduate of Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing’s BSN and MSN program, she completed clinical rotations in Harlem Hospital and continued to serve the West Harlem community for 5 years as a nurse practitioner in adult primary care. She moved on to serve the East Harlem community as a nurse practitioner at the adult medicine clinic in Boriken Neighborhood Health Center and continues her ties to the East Harlem community up till today.
With over eight years dedicated to serving diverse populations, NP Abayomi has refined her ability to manage multiple health issues while considering socio-economic factors. Her six years as a registered nurse which included roles in care management across various New York City hospitals further enhances her ability to care for diverse populations.

Whenever I try to explain what’s wrong with me she really hears me. I appreciate that. There’s been other doctors who want to guess without hearing my explanation first. She really is very patient with me and my doubts. She truly cares about my health and well being. I’m not just a patient in the charts. Patient care is a gift that only a few in this profession have and she has it. She’s not trying to rush you out with a prescription but wants to make sure she has given you the best medical advice. I love her I’m definitely keeping her as my pcp!

Ms. Abayomi’s, caring manner made it easy for me to talk to her about a health issue that was hard to discuss. She took her time looking over my lab results, asked thoughtful questions, and explained my treatment clearly. I trusted her advice and soon felt better. I should mention that my regular doctor had missed this issue, but Ms. Abayomi carefully reviewed everything and found the answer. I am truly thankful I met her when I did. She brought to mind the saying, “ Whenever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity,” by Hippocrates.
I will most definitely go to her with confidence.
