He is extremely knowledgable, and answered all my questions and concerns with clarity and enthusiasm. I am finally feeling better and am functioning much better. Pablo Sanchez-Barranco is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certified psychiatrist who earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad de Sevilla Facultad de Medicina, Spain. He completed his General Psychiatry Residency at New York University School of Medicine (2004) and graduated from the Addiction Psychiatry and Public Psychiatry Fellowships there (2007).
Dr. Sanchez-Barranco has been an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at New York University Medical School and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. He has received numerous civilian and military recognitions, including the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship and Best Primary Care Manager (physician) for the U.S. Army Northern Region Medical Command.
He is a commissioned officer with the U.S. Army Medical Corps and a combat veteran with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He served as a combat psychiatrist during Operation Enduring Freedom (2012/13) and in Operations Freedom's Sentinel and Inherent Resolve (2018/19) as Chief Behavioral Health Officer-Psychiatrist for U.S. Army Central Command (Forward) under Task Force 8th Medical. He has earned awards such as the Army Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with Combat Device, and Combat Action Badge. His Armed Forces experience gives him a unique perspective to understand and treat trauma-related disorders like Post-Traumatic Stress and Acute Stress disorders.
Dr. Sanchez-Barranco's clinical interests include Adult Attention-Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety disorders, Depressive and Bipolar illnesses, and substance-related disorders.
