About Dr. Palak Rana
As a dedicated professional, Dr. Rana is actively engaged in her field and stays up to date with the latest advancements and best practices. Dr. Rana is a therapeutic and glaucoma-certified optometrist whose mission is to provide outstanding patient care and service to her community.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Riverside. Having enjoyed her studies in health sciences, she went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. Through her internship, Dr. Rana gained experience in primary care, pediatrics, ocular disease treatment, vision therapy, specialty contact lens fitting, and low vision care. She has worked with optometrists in private and commercial settings, as well as with ophthalmologists in treating LASIK and cataract patients. Dr. Rana is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and New York State Optometric Association. Outside of the office, Dr. Rana enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.

Good experience overall but they didn’t take my insurance even though I went thru zocdoc. That was prob zocdocs issues though.

It was easy and good. Only little glitch was my appt was for 11. I was earlier. Front desk said I was 11:30. I showed her confirmation for 11. She said someone called to change it - I did not get any message about that. Not sure why this conversation happened Because I was seen on time and all was smooth and easy?

Awful experience — unprofessional and rude staff.
I never got to see Dr. Palak Rana, and won't be returning. Before my appointment, I was told my insurance didn’t go through — turns out they entered my info incorrectly. Then, they said my appointment time (4:40 PM via ZocDoc) didn’t exist, offering only 4, 4:30, or 5.
The real issue was the rude treatment from one of the front desk staff, an older Puerto Rican woman. I came in for dry, red eyes, hoping to get an exam and prescription, but she rudely cut me off and said I couldn’t be seen for anything else since I mentioned red eyes. Her younger coworker tried to help, but this woman kept intervening unprofessionally.
I left frustrated and felt discriminated against, possibly due to my South American background. I will never return to this office, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I feel bad for Dr. Rana, but I won’t be back.

I'm pleased to report that the new folks are terrific. Liz, Bernice, and Jennely are very professional, patient, and knowledgeable. They understand insurance benefits and will help you pick out the right glasses for you. I saw Dr. Rana, and she was excellent as well. Spent all the time necessary to get my. prescription perfectly. I will continue to come back here.

I had my routine eye exam done here and I'm so glad I chose them. I went during my lunch break, wait time was fairly minimal. Dr. Rana was excellent and so was the rest of the staff. I'll definitely continue coming here. Thank you Davis Eye Care!!!
