Dr. Pamela Shepard grew up in Collinsville, Alabama. She graduated with Honors summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in 2004, where she concentrated in Biological Sciences. After receiving her Bachelor of Science, she continued to Optometry School at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While there, she was involved in the Gold Key Honor Society and served as President of the Optometric Honor Society Phi Beta Sigma. She also was a member of SVOSH, a volunteer organization that served the needs of underprivileged patients in the United States and abroad. While a student at UAB, Dr. Shepard completed rotations at Veteran's Affairs hospitals and an ophthalmology practice that specialized in refractive surgery. She also received extensive training in primary care, pediatrics, and contact lens fittings.
Upon graduation in 2008, Dr. Shepard received the Alabama Optometric Society's leadership award. She then began a residency in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Centers of Atlanta, where she further developed her ability to treat various ocular conditions and care for pre and post operative cataract patients. While at Omni, Dr. Shepard served as an emergency on call eye care professional for over 400 optometrists in the Atlanta area. In addition to treating various ocular diseases, Dr. Shepard has also taught dozens of optometry students from around the United States and Canada through lecturing and clinical encounters.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Shepard began working full time at Tulman Eye Group. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. In addition to ocular disease, she enjoys primary care optometry and caring for pediatric patients.

My whole family goes to Tullman Eye Group. We really like all the Dr's but I always see Dr. Shepard. She is very knowledgeable and always takes time to answer all my questions. She is fantastic! We even have friends/co-workers who go to this group. I would recommend this group to everyone!

i was well pleased. i went to see pamela because of an eye injury. i felt like she took ample time to exam my eyes and study the photos that were taken of my eyes. she took time to explain the results and answer any questions i had. i felt like she was very knowledgeable and done her job well. i will be going back to see pamela, when my next eye exam is due.

This office is excellent! All the staff members were pleasant and helpful. The wait time was minimal between procedures. All the optical staff made sure you were being taken care of by someone. Dr. Shepard is very pleasant, personable and honest, only wanting your vision to be as perfect as it can be. This is my new optical home.

Insurance was not verified before my appointment. Service would have been covered by insurance 100% if I would waiting 2 months. They told me after they seen me instead of telling me before they seen me.

I have been going to this office for over 13 years and I have seen all 3 doctors. This is the best eye doctor's office in Atlanta. I don't even carry an vision plan on my insurance, but I have no problem paying out of pocket so that I can visit Dr. Shepard or whomever is available when I need an appointment.

Everyone was great except when I went to young lady to pick out the glasses. I did not understand her showing glasses that are not for purchase because of the lens size. Going forward don't show glasses that cannot be purchased with the patients lens prescriptions.

The office staff of the Tulman Eye Group were welcoming and friendly. They treated me as an individual, valuing my questions by providing answers and sharing information about procedures and eye care technology. They honored my curiosity with genuine appreciation and humor. Dr. Shepard was just as welcoming and as friendly. She, too, provided me with information about the examination and the condition of my eyes. I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone of the Tulmen Eye Group.
