About Dr. Rima Macwan

Dr. Rima Macwan, owner and founder of Macwan Eye Group, earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from New York University before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry at SUNY College of Optometry. During her time at SUNY College of Optometry, she trained under top ocular disease and pediatric specialty trained optometrists and surgeons. She also completed rigorous training at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lyons, NJ, Pediatric and Vision Therapy Clinic at SUNY College of Optometry, and Pediatric Ocular Disease at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating, Dr. Macwan spent time working at various private practices and luxury boutiques in New York City and Phoenix, before opening up her own clinic in New Jersey. Ultimately, her and her husband’s search for warmer weather and perfect place to raise a family brought her to Georgia in 2021! When Dr. Macwan is not seeing patients, she is spending time with her husband and three children, planning the next getaway, or figuring out which farmers market or festival to attend in the area.
