Patrick B. Cooper, MD, FAANS joins Einstein Healthcare Network’s Division of Neurosurgery and is a member of the Einstein Spine Institute, as well as an interdisciplinary team of Einstein physicians from Neurosurgery, Neurology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Cooper joins us from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where, for the past nine years, he has been a senior staff neurosurgeon. He was the Center’s director of neurosurgical oncology since 2006 and the neurosurgery consultant to the Army Surgeon General since 2012. Dr. Cooper is board-certified in neurological surgery and recently retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army. He earned his medical degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He completed his internship and neurosurgery residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and received additional, specialized training in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neurological Surgery. He is seeing patients at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and Einstein Medical Center East Norriton.
