Dr. Paul A. Genser is a board-certified UCI Health general pediatrician whose clinical interests include pediatric asthma and allergies, emergency medicine, sports medicine and injury, pediatric and adolescent care, as well as nutrition and development, management and prevention of contagious illnesses and school and behavioral problems, including ADHD.
Genser earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. He completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
For Genser, the opportunity to treat children from infancy to adulthood is both challenging and rewarding.
“We get to watch our patients from the time they are babies; we get to see them as they first sit up, walk and talk. We do their sports physicals as they prepare to enter high school, and we are still treating them as they enter their early 20s,” he said. “From the very beginning, I really enjoyed pediatric healthcare.”
Growing up in Southern California, Genser was a high school and college athlete. “I encourage my patients to be healthy young people, to show respect for their bodies, eat properly and stay involved in sports. I stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle.” In addition, he tries to foster trust and open communication with his patients, encouraging them to contact him with questions about their health.
