"Vision is so very precious. The importance of routine eye care cannot be over emphasized, especially in patients with underlying systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The older age group, which has been growing exponentially, are the people at risk for macular degeneration- the leading cause of blindness over the age of 65. I feel very strongly that diet and total body health are essential for good eye health. Prevention is the key to prevention of sight threatening disease."
