Wait time needs to be improved upon. Aside from that, my first encounter with Dr. Lerner was pleasant and professional.

I am not terribly satisfied with my experience with Dr. Lerner. I only spent about 15 minutes in his office and very little of that time did I spend talking about my symptoms. He seemed to focus on a particular symptom of mine that I told him was secondary and proceeded to talk about how we should go about treating this particular symptom, rather than listening to me about my actual concerns and working towards a potential diagnosis. I did not feel listened to and left feeling like I had wasted my time with him. The upside is that I was able to have a test that I needed done in the office that day and was able to schedule another for later that month, so the entire visit wasn't a waste of time, and the technician that performed the test was very nice. Overall I did not feel listened to by Dr. Lerner and will not be going back for a follow up with him, but I did get some of the tests that I needed and the staff was nice.

Good listener. Took my symptoms seriously and came up with an action plan. I was prepared for a longer wait time, so that didn’t bother me.
July 20, 2021Derek A.Verified patient
Dr. Lerner is very knowledgeable at his job and takes the time to listen to his patients needs. rather then give a verbal diagnosis he takes the time and is doing what’s best for his patient! It’s nice to have a dr care and listen to understand what’s going on rather then just prescribing a prescription and letting the patient walk out. That makes a great dr!

Ended up having to reschedule (my fault) after arriving at the office, but the front desk was both helpful and empathetic and thus my experience was good, considering the last minute change.
For new patients in the area, the office is closer to the 30th st station, than broadway.

Dr. Lerner was friendly and knowledgeable. He listened to all my concerns and asked a lot of questions. Very pleased with him. The office is very crowded though.

Dr. Lerner has many patients. That explains the waiting time. He is a neurologist who knows what he is doing. He is soft spoken and listens to the needs of the patient. Overall, I was satisfied with the medical service.

I felt confident with this doctor. He can't give me a concrete diagnosis because I need to do the tests ordered.
I will be back soon.

Dr. Lerner was professional, efficient and knowledgeable. But, If they could be a little more on time and courteous of our time and the office was in a more convenient place, everyone would feel a little better about their appointments.
July 4, 2019Renee T.Verified patient
Dr. Lerner was forthright and direct. He captured all the nuances of my case with many well thought out questions. After a back-and-forth conversation, he arrived at diagnosis and treatment. I got referrals and follow-up appointments for treatment. Great visit.
May 1, 2019John M.Verified patient
Appointment was rescheduled because the PCP's office failed to submit the referral and was unreachable. Dr. Lerner's staff handled it very professionally and tried again. Ultimately, the appointment was rescheduled, but this was necessary because of the problem with the PCP office and was not their fault. I have been there before and would recommend this doctor.

The wait time was more than unacceptable. I was able to watch a 90 minute movie and still had not been seen. This would be acceptable if once I saw the doctor that the visit was lengthy, informative and one that addressed the problem on this visit. I have to come back in two weeks. Let's hope the wait isn't the same.
November 18, 2016Michael J.Verified patient
The doctor might be amazing but it is not ok to wait over 2,5 hours with a huge sign in the waiting room 'absolutely no drinking or eating'. If you don't have spots don't force it, delete the availability from zocdoc!! It's not that difficult, I wasted most of my day on that stupid waiting time!
July 21, 2016Aleksandra R.Verified patient
Visit went well. Took time to listen without rushing. Also took time to explain other possibilities, in the event other avenues would be necessary for treatment.

my issue is with the office manage, who went I requested copy of my Mri report . she refuse. I ask to fax or mail to me .she said only after I see the dr.it the worst customer service ever.i will never go there again. I feel the dr. should review how there employee deal with his customer at the desk or on the phone.

Dr. Lerner is efficient and knowledgable, but the wait time was awful. Was not seen until 12:15 when I had an 11:00 appt, and that was only because the nurse bumped me up.
More than 1 year agoInitials hidden
Making the appt.was easy via ZocDoc.. The wait was forever. I came in on time at 1pm.. I was called into the office at 230 pm. Waited for like 13 minutes. Basically my actual patient to doctor interaction less than 15 minutes. Should have been waiting for only maximum 45 minutes less than an hour but this was uncalled for. Too long of a wait. Kinda weary going back for my follow up:-(
