I broke my wrist on a weekend while mountain biking. Dr. Mahoney saw me 2 days later and performed surgery later that week. With physical therapy, my wrist felt good in six weeks. Eight months later my wrist feels as good as new. Excellent service, fantastic physician, highly recommend.

The office was very professional and effiecent.

The doctor and his staff appear to know what they are talking about, as I asked questions. Asking why and what is this helps to understand who I am dealing with. They were professional and gave me the time I needed with them,

In spite of having Medicare and the United Healthcare Supplement Insurance he refused to give me the trigger finger steroid injection he said I needed and gave me a bunch of double talk about it being a procedure and they have procedure days. Every other Doctor I ever went to for a similar condition just gave the shot in the office on the first appointment.Takes 5 minutes to do it . His assistant said it was really that Dr. Mahoney required all procedures to be pre approved by the insurance company so he would be sure to get paid. He does not care if you are in pain or not. What he really cares about is making money . They offered me an appointment 3 weeks into the future which coupled with the 3 week wait to see him makes 6 weeks with no pain relief. He did not even offer me a prescription pain medication. This man does not care if you are hurting so stay away from him if you are smart.

The staff was very friendly and professional. I was extremely pleased and happy with my visit with Dr. Mahoney. He answered all my questions and took his time explaining all of my options in a kind and professional manner. I would highly recommend Phoenix Hand Surgery Dr. Mahoney and his staff.
When I go to the doctor I'm used to seeing a nurse for about 2 seconds. Dr. Mahoney has always seen me. He doesn't have any nurses or P.As. He always took the time to explain what was going on with my hand. He is a great doc and just a nice guy.
I saw Dr. Mahoney for a second opinion after having multiple surgeries with another hand surgeon that were not successful in my opinion. Dr. Mahoney was very professional during his exam and explained all of my options and risks thoroughly. He was very honest about what my expectations should be. This was very different from my previous surgeon. The staff at Pheonix Hand went above and beyond to get my insurance company to approve another surgery and now for the first time in almost 1 year I am pain free.
I have had pain in my thumb for years, when I first saw Dr. Mahoney he explained all of my options and did not pressure me right into surgery, which I was so thankful for. After trying to alleviate my pain without surging and failing, I proceeded with surgery feeling so confident & comfortable with Dr. Mahoney as my surgeon, as he had taken the time to try my other options without pressuring me. The surgery was extremly sucessful and one of the best decisions I have ever made. I recommend everyone to see Dr. Mahoney!
If you have carpal tunnel syndrome you have to see this doctor. I had carpal tunnel on my right hand with the old fashion open surgery 15 years ago, and I still don't feel its 100%. Dr. Mahoney did his minimally invasive carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand and I was able to go back to work the next day. Now just a few months later you can't even see the scar.
Dr. Mahoney is excellent. I flew from out of state to see him for my ulnar nerve and tennis elbow issue. After extensive online research I concluded that Dr. Mahoney was best suited and experienced to operate on me. When I flew to AZ to see him I knew it was risky not knowing him but it was one of the best decisions of my life. He took the time to explain to me what was going on, all of my options and ultimately gave me my life back when he performed surgery. I tell everyone I know that Dr. Mahoney is worth the flight.
Wow. My hand has been hurting for over a year. I have seen multiple other docs who could not help me. Dr. Mahoney took the time to sit and listen to me. He figured out what was wrong with my hand and operated on me. A month later I barely have my symptoms.
Dr. Mahoney is known in the valley for his endoscopic carpal tunnel release. That is why I initially saw him years ago (BTW if you have carpal tunnel don't see anyone else). I saw him again recently because I broke my wrist. I didn't realize he takes care of anything wrong with your arm & hand, when I asked him he said that he used to run the University of Louisville's hand department. Fantastic Doctor!
