More about Dr. Paula Lapinski, MD
Dr. Lapinski earned her undergraduate degree in Pre-Professional Studies from the University of Notre Dame, graduating with Honors as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating, she began her medical education at the Northwestern University School of Medicine, graduating in 1997.
Immediately after graduation from medical school, she began an internship at Evanston-Northwestern Hospital before moving to Dallas to complete her residency in Dermatology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She spent an additional year at UT Southwestern Medical Center focused on Mohs micrographic surgery, a specialized method of skin cancer excision and pathologic examination. While completing her residency in Dallas, she also lectured as a Clinical Instructor in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
After her residency, Dr. Lapinski obtained board certification from the American Board of Dermatology. She began offering dermatology services in the private practice setting in Dallas-Fort Worth while she also co-directed the Pigmented Lesion Clinic at UT Southwestern Medical Center. This clinic is a specialized center for patients with melanoma, atypical nevi, and other malignant skin conditions. After remaining in Texas for another year to offer dermatology and Mohs surgery in private practice, Dr. Lapinski decided to move back home to Illinois and established herself as a dermatologist near Naperville, serving patients in Joliet, Frankfort, and Bourbonnais.
