I was very satisfied with my appointment. He listened to all my concerns and reassured me about the prognosis. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field, specifically hair loss.
People complain about his bedside manner, but truthfully, it is just a generational thing. He is very concise, and I understand how one could view that as him being rushed.
Otherwise, the appointment went well, and I am looking forward to continuing with Dr P.

Dr. Peter Panagotacos is a double board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon with over 40 years of experience in surgical and medical treatments and a highly respected specialist in hair growth after diseases and injuries or because of hereditary hair loss.
Dr. Panagotacos earned his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1968. He completed an internship at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco before moving to New Orleans for his dermatology residency training at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital.
Before opening his private dermatology practice in 1974, Dr. Panagotacos served as a dermatologist in the United States Army with the distinction of being the final doctor drafted for the Vietnam War. Since then, he has treated countless patients and has taught as an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF).
Dr. Panagotacos is the head of dermatology at St. Mary’s Medical Center and lectures nationally and internationally on hair transplantation. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Panagotacos offers a diverse range of treatments and services for hair loss. He assesses each patient before building an individualized treatment plan that may include follicular unit extraction (FUE) using the first ARTAS® iX robotic hair transplant system on the West Coast, follicular unit transplantation (FUT), platelet-rich plasma injections, laser caps, or prescriptions, such as for minoxidil and finasteride.
While Dr. Panagotacos dedicates the majority of his time to his patients, he also maintains a private estate in Greece where his family produces Lykovouno Olive Oil.

The Dr was pretty short with me - didn’t seem to want to hear my comments

This doctor burnt things off of my face with liquid nitrogen. He did not ask permission he did not tell me how to treat the wound afterward, and he treated areas that he did not discuss with me before hand and acted like he was doing me a favour. I have a massive blister on my face and I’m very upset. I would not ever go back to this doctor again.

A bit pushy for this doctors own personal products like shampoo and conditioner that make him extra money. I got double charged for the copay and they did not refund the money back to me. Do not come here.

Doctor did not make any effort to accurately diagnose my condition. Nor did he have the patience to answer my questions. He took one look at me and came up with a diagnosis that I really did not think was correct, and immediately asked me to schedule a second appointment. After the appointment I immediately went to an urgent care, where a doctor took care of me and gave me what i actually needed.
I tried to tell him more about my symptoms and ask him questions, but he was bolting out of the patient room within 2 minutes. This is after he made me wait 40 minutes in the patient room after my appointment time. I had to ask him questions in front of the office receptionist because he rushed out so quickly.
This doctor has a lot of good reviews, so maybe he was just having a bad day, but I have to say I’ll never see him again and would not recommend him to anybody.
