Dr. Calenda completed his Ophthalmology Residency and his Transitional Internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fordham University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the national honor society Phi Beta Kappa.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Calenda is a lecturer for the New York State Ophthalmological Society and a member of the ophthalmology section of the Westchester County Medical Society.

No way to reach office by phone. Had to go there to speak with staff.
Front end staff very helpful and courteous.
Doctor was almost 45 minutes late. No apology
Visit was no more than 5 minutes.

While I waited to see him, he saw three patients before me and while the doors of the examination rooms were open he told them all the same thing :”you have dry eyes!” What he told me was the same. He prescribed eye drops and said I might need to start wearing glasses soon. He didn’t ask me questions and he wasn’t even interested in my health history. He didn’t bother to say “Have a nice day” or similar when the exam was over. The whole experience was off.
I saw another Dr. who said my eyes were fine and he couldn’t find anything wrong with them. My blurry vision was actually connected to an underlying health issue that’s been under treatment, and the vision is actually getting better now.
I DO NOT recommend Dr. Calenda.

I was a last appointment and a new patient.
The staff was so nice but I felt rushed. I believe it would be better for earlier appointments when you’re a new patient. I felt like it was 1/2 an exam and it was.
I left the office confused, upset and full of questions. Very nice doctor but Maybe it was just an extra busy day.

Very short wait time- got stuck in traffic on the taconic and was late to my appointment and they still saw me right away. Staff works really well as a team to get patients in and out without making you feel rushed.
