Priyanka Chugh, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and practices gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Doctors Queens and The Mount Sinai Hospital. She completed an accelerated BS/MD program, receiving both her undergraduate degree and medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She then completed her training in internal medicine and primary care at the prestigious New York University Bellevue Hospital, where she treated medically complex and underserved patients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. She went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the New York Medical College Westchester Medical Center, during which time she served as chief gastroenterology fellow. Dr. Chugh provides expert and compassionate care in general gastroenterology and hepatology, and her clinical focuses include complex liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer screening, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Placing an emphasis on patient experience, she prioritizes making each and every patient feel comfortable and knowledgeable from the moment they call to make an appointment. Dr. Chugh takes a patient-centered approach to medicine, following a shared decision-making model for patient care. With her background in primary care, she treats patients comprehensively and values robust and cooperative relationships that improve health outcomes overall.
