About Dr. Jay Desai
Dr. Desai is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He graduated with Research Honors from Tufts University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at New York University. He has a strong clinical interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease as well as Colorectal cancer screening. He also has expertise in managing gastrointestinal bleeding, acid reflux, abdominal pain syndromes, constipation, diarrhea, celiac disease, as well as liver disorders.
He is currently the Primary Investigator for multiple clinical trials centered around Inflammatory Bowel Disease at NYGA. He has published extensively in leading gastroenterology journals as well as presented at national gastroenterology conferences, for which he has been recognized with several research awards.
Dr. Desai believes in melding the latest evidenced based therapy with compassionate bed side care to help each of his patients maximize their health.
