Dear New Patient,
Welcome to Northwestern Center for Orthopedics!
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself, and my experience in healthcare. I am originally from Chicago's North Shore, and I earned my medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School. Following graduation, I completed my internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. For the next four years, I continued advanced training in my chosen specialty, orthopedic surgery, as a resident in several Northwestern University affiliated hospitals.
As an orthopedic surgeon, my work is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. My practice is focused on knee and shoulder arthroscopy and hip and knee replacement surgery. It brings me great pleasure to apply state-of-the-art proven procedures to restore mobility and help patients return to an active lifestyle. I strive to provide you as much information as possible to ensure you make an informed decision on your treatment options. I joined the practice now known as Northwestern Center for Orthopedics in 1977, and since then it has been my mission to provide you the same excellent service and care that I would offer to a member of my family.
In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy fly fishing, golf, reading, and spending time with my family.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further improve your experience at Northwestern Center for Orthopedics. My goal is to provide you the best medical care available.

Dr. Anderson takes the time to answer all your questions and made sure I was comfortable before my MRI. He is very nice!

appt a few weeks ago ...waited over an hour and the front desk staff was very rude and unhelpful. Doctor saw me for maybe 30 seconds and was given no aftercare or further instruction. couldn't get out of there fast enough

I think the doctor was fine, i was seen pretty quickly, got some x-ray results back quickly, and sent on my way. I'm glad to have been checked out OK.

After visiting the hospital for microfractures on my arm, the ER doctor suggested that I see an orthopedic a week after to make sure that everything is fine.
When I visited Dr. Anderson's office, he requested my file from the hospital, which he received right away, looked at the x-rays and without paying any attention to the notes of the ER doctor told me that there is nothing wrong with my arm and send me home. He did not even bother to read the ER doctor's notes in the file. He did not even notice the ER doctor's diagnosis from my records.
I went there for a specialist's opinion as the ER doctor suggested, and found him one of the most careless doctor I have seen.

My total travel time to see this doctor was about 2hrs. Wait time approx. 30. Total consultation 5min including checkup and conversation about my back. Translation; HUGE WASTE OF TIME.

Dr. Anderson is great! I felt he was probably a little undertilized with my fractured hand but treated me like any of the athletes that see him. No nonsense, funny - made me very comfortable. The office staff is wonderful too!

Listened to my concerns and took them seriously, was very helpful with my issues. Definitely would recommend but arriving early to fill out paper work is definitely something that is important so you can be seen by him on time!

Really friendly doctor. Didn't order more tests than I felt were needed, and told me that seeing him more would not be efficient. Excellent and honest care.

I was disappointed with Dr. Anderson's professionalism. I found him to be somewhat condescending to me. Also, when he came into the exam room the first time, he said he was on hold on a phone call with customs. Then he did a quick exam, sent me down the hall for x-rays, and when I came back to the room after x-rays, I could hear him continuing his phone conversation from earlier, for a good 10 minutes while the x-rays and I sat there, ready and waiting. I felt like the phone call was his first priority, not doing his actual job.

Great experience. Bounced around from primary care doctor for weeks after a fall. Found Dr Proctor office online. So glad I did! Next day appointment. They even managed to get me in with same day MRIs for my sprained ankled! These guys are great!

It was a very good, prompt, and thorough experience. I was seen immediately and received an MRI right away without having to seek out another appointment at another facility.

The appointment went well and the Doctor was knowledgeable, efficient and caring (Dr. John Hefferon, not Anderson). However, the people who take the phone calls when you are trying to reach doctors are awful, disrespectful, unfriendly and couldn't care less. So make sure to get all the information you need the one time you will be able to talk to the Doc.

I was very happy with the care and treatment received at NCO with Dr. Anderson. I would highly recommend him to others. It was convenient that this office has their own x-ray and MRI equipment. The staff was friendly and most helpful.

Dr. Anderson was great! I was able to get an appointment with short notice and the wait was less than 10 minutes. Also, he was able to take an xray and go over it in less than 10 minutes, which was remarkable.

Dr. Anderson was pleasant and made sure all my questions were answered. I was satisfied with the treatment I received, I was also referred to the therapy department where I received excellent care. I will be sure to let everyone know of my positive experience with Dr. Anderson.
