“It’s in a location that’s easy to get to so you aren’t going into too much traffic. Parking was a little congested but there are other offices in the building. The building was very nice and very clean. The office staff were friendly and I was taken back almost immediately. Rachel was very nice as was her nurse. I have a few things I want to work on (skin wise) but she took care of one in a snap. I was surprised actually.I was in an out in less than 30 minutes. I went on a Tuesday so that may play into how quiet it was but it was pleasant.”

About Rachel Goodman
Preston Dermatology won Best Dermatology Practice in Raleigh, 2025!! Rachel Goodman, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in surgical and aesthetic dermatology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY, graduating with Sigma Theta Tau honors. She began her nursing career in New York, working through the COVID-19 pandemic before transitioning to Duke University Hospital, where she specialized in perioperative care and discovered a love for wound management and plastic surgery.
While advancing her clinical expertise, Rachel became a travel nurse and pursued her Master of Science in Nursing at Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT, graduating with honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Passionate about cosmetic dermatology, she has completed advanced training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and is proficient in Botox, dermal fillers, TMJ and orofacial pain management, and trigger point therapy for pain relief.
Beyond her work in dermatology, Rachel loves to explore new places and has traveled to over 15 countries. She also enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. She is excited to bring her expertise and passion for aesthetic and medical dermatology to Preston Dermatology.

I had a fantastic experience with NP Rachel Goodman. From the moment I checked in, the staff was friendly, efficient, and respectful of my time — I barely waited before being seen. NP Goodman took the time to really listen to my concerns, explain what was going on with my skin, and walk me through different treatment options in a clear and reassuring way.

The patients seen before me had their medical conditions and treatment details spoken loudly into the waiting room. I could hear every single detail. I asked the receptionist if there was no privacy for patients. She got up and closed a door. Then we could still hear in the waiting room, but it was not as loud. I almost left before my appointment. HIPPA doesn’t seem to be understood in this particular office.

I am a relatively new patient and I just need to express how wonderful my experience has been! Rachel has taken exceptional care of me at every appointment, to the point where I look forward to my visits! I’ve gotten a few different treatments done, all with Rachel, and she has been nothing but knowledgeable, patient and warm - she has excellent bedside manner! I am very pleased with my experience coming to this office, and I will be coming to Preston Dermatology for all of my dermatological needs.

Absolutely loved my experience with Rachel at this practice. She was very personable and made me feel extremely comfortable. She was very in depth with my appointment and answered every question i had regarding all treatment regimens! Will be recommending her to all friends and family for any dermatology needs!
