Dr. Raghu Athré is one of the few cosmetic surgeons in Houston who has completed specialty fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and is a board-certified Head/Neck Surgeon. Athré Facial Plastics was created to provide patients with comprehensive facial plastic surgery care for the face, neck, eyelids, ears, and nose as well as cosmetic and reconstructive facial procedures. He believes, “All plastic surgery procedures must be performed with the same level of competency. My specialized training has prepared me to perform very intricate surgeries that require a high attention to detail. These refined skills allow me to provide the same level of service to my patients, whether they are considering rhinoplasty in the Houston area or eyelid surgery.”
Before becoming a facial cosmetic surgeon serving Houston residents, Dr. Athré started his academic career at the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering. He has always been interested in the way things work, and creating things that work functionally and aesthetically. Dr. Athré likes to relate surgery to engineering. Both require analysis, attention to detail and a plan of action. “Furthermore, one must always have a back-up game plan,” says Dr. Athré. Following completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Athré graduated in the top 10% of his medical school class at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, one of the top medical schools in the country. He was also awarded the Hudson-Penn Award, which is awarded annually to the top surgical senior medical student.
