About Dr. Kevin Smith
Kevin Smith, M.D.,F.A.C.S. is owner of the Smith Center, a state-of-the-art medical practice focused on facial plastic surgery, sinus surgery, and headache relief. He is board certified in both Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He obtained his education from University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where he also completed his residency in Otolaryngology. Advanced training was achieved through an externship in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Smith has served for the past 16 years as an Assistant Clinical Faculty Member in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He was appointed to the Texas Medical Board, is active in his local medical society, and mentors students.
Dr. Smith has helped hundreds of patients with severe, migraine-like headaches recover their lives. He is sought out internationally to lecture on a variety of medical topics. He appears frequently on local Houston radio and television shows, and has appeared on National television shows, including Inside Edition and The Today Show. He remains passionate about his ability to provide patients who have long suffered from severe headache pain, a brighter future. He has published a book titled "The Migraine Imposter".
Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Ok my people anybody that knows me, knows that I love being a reviewer! I enjoy giving good, positive feedback but you’ve read my reviews than you know once it’s negative then you guys know not to go to the place I reviewed. Any who where do I start ? First , let me start off by saying that when my mother and I met Dr. Smith, he was very well -mannered and amazing but once my mothers procedures where approved by her insurance things changed! I’m very disappointed in how this has been handled ! Last thing I heard was last Thursday when I was told by Anna the manager she doesn’t even deserve a miss Ana which was very rude and aggressive. Very unprofessional manager who speaks over you and doesn’t let you explain until you start treating her as she’s treating you. It’s Tues and I have yet heard from “Miss Anna.” We have given up on this doctor because I’m sure he is full aware of the situation but since all my mother CPT codes got approved now they don’t want to move forward. What Anna said was the doctor wanted a payment upfront just in case insurance doesn’t pay but yet all services are approved and honestly my mother should just be paying her deductible portion. He got quoted the first time for everything being covered by Melissa but just in case it wasn’t it would be another price which that was fine but we waited for a response for 3 weeks. Once I called my mothers insurance , sent documents and pictures and got everything approved thanks to our persistence and the doctors insurance verificador. Overall I give this place a 2 only because we liked the doctor and Ms. Ashley were really awesome but other than that I’m very disappointed about how Dr. Smith and Anna have approached this issue. Very unprofessional this place should be cash only and no insurance because once your procedures are covered you are forgotten and abandoned! Uff hope I got all my frustrations off my chest because overall I’m just the messenger and I don’t appreciate how Anna talks to patients especially when I’m calling and being my mothers translator! Treat people with dignity and respect people! That’s what we lack in this world ! Kindness!

I was very impressed with my visit with Dr. Smith and his team. Everyone was polite and welcoming. I appreciate the thorough questions asked about my history and the details of my issues presented. Dr. Smith was very knowledgeable, thorough, and professional with a great sense of humor. I like how he walked me through the diagram and X-ray of my nose so you I would have a clear understanding of what is going on with me. The office was nicely decorated with great music playing in the exam room. I was prescribed medication and given a plan in case the medication doesn’t work. I follow up in 6 weeks.

Excellent listening and people skills. My appointment was made after CAT scan already done & he was able to diagnose and come up with a treatment plan in the first visit. I am scheduled for surgery at the time/date of my choosing. Very easy to work with and office staff is very pleasant as well.

Dr. Smith was amazing. Extremely caring and attentive, he went above and beyond in answering all of my questions. His office set up is really cool, and his staff is awesome. Dr Smith diagnosed my problem and recommended effective treatment so accurately that it saved me from anymore discomfort. I really liked that he sent me to an imaging facility that took me in right away and had just as much professionalism and care as Dr. Smith and his staff did. My experience at The Smith facility was great and I would definitely recommend other people to him. He took great care of me and my situation and I will be forever thankful.

Dr. Smith was extremely kind and professional, but I was not very confident in his recommendations. I do not feel like he thoroughly listened to my concerns and he prescribed medications that I feel took care of the symptoms, but not the source of the problem. I find myself now looking for another ENT to find out what is wrong with me. In his defense though, perhaps his specialty is more plastic surgery and my issue was not within his scope of practice.

Dr. Smith is sharp, he helped me understand what he was talking about by showing me diagrams and then let me watch as he used state of the art computer video equipment to go internally and see my nasal conditions, wasn't as gross as it sounds. He nailed the issues I have lived with for decades and put together a plan to correct it and get me back to normal, or better!
