Before visiting Dr. Vangipuram, I was nervous to discuss the countless numbers of moles and freckles I had, and was afraid I might have cancer. Dr. V not only calmed me with her education, but she also helped identify some lesions which she wanted to keep a close eye on. I am thankful for her!

Being of South Asian descent, Dr. Vangipuram hails from an international background; however, she grew up in Lubbock, TX. She is a lifelong scholar, having graduated as an International Baccalaureate diplomate from Lubbock High School. At Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, she earned a bachelor of science degree in biology with a minor in Religion. Returning home after college, Dr. Vangipuram attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock to earn her medical degree. Remaining in Texas, she completed her dermatology residency at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Houston, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Vangipuram is passionate about advancing medicine, and has over 45 research and clinical publications to date, in prestigious journals such as Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD). She applies the principle of evidence based practice to deliver compassionate and personalized care to her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Vangipuram enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family, including her Maltese, Tobey.
