A person may enter therapy when they feel they can no longer effectively manage aspects of their life. Although it can be difficult to ask for help, this is where therapy begins. Once committed to this idea, choosing the right therapist is the next step. Finding a good therapeutic match is crucial to solving one’s problems. I approach therapy by ensuring that an effective match exists between therapist and client. Once established, therapeutic goals can be more readily clarified and articulated. I work collaboratively to better understand the client’s problem, decision to seek therapy, goals, and readiness for change. I have extensive training and experience in a variety of therapeutic approaches, but tend to draw most heavily from Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Existential frameworks.
