More about Dr. Rebecca Ference, AuD
Rebecca received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2011 and her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Tempe in 2007. During her studies she received a communication disorders scholarship from the University of Texas, made the Dean’s List at and graduated Cum Laude from ASU. She has a special interest in treating children (pediatric audiology). Rebecca has worked at a busy ear, nose and throat physician’s office in Chandler, Arizona before joining Metro Hearing and Balance. “It was a great opportunity because I was able to focus on and improve my clinical skills in cochlear implant programming, amplification and vestibular assessment,” she says. Her most memorable experience was programming a seven-year-old boy’s first set of hearing aids. “As this little boy started to walk out of the office, he stopped and turned to me and said, ‘thank you for my sound’. That melted my heart and I knew that I had found my specialty,” she says. Rebecca is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, but was born a Georgia peach.
